the more i see, the more i want

i can't stop.

after so many moves and waaay too many purges over the last 3 years, i am, yet again, moving in 10 days. hopefully it will be the last for a while.
and because i've gotten rid of so much, i am now in a predicament of needing furniture, and have become obsessed as of late. see most recent posts here and here.

rarely do i like to buy anything and leave it as is. or, if i have an idea of what i want, and i can't afford it or find it, i'll find a way to re-create something similar, and knowing that it has my own personal touch makes it that much more special.

next DIY? i think this feathered pendant lamp will be it. HEAVEN.

image from apartment therapy.

*after immediately googling feathers, i came across some suppliers, and thought...not only would the lamp be amazing in white, as pictured....but black could be totally sick as well. HEAVEN HEAVEN.

heaven or new york?

ny magazine has a story on lisa and chris goode's nolita apartment penthouse mansion. some of it actually reminds of los angeles. it's so rare to see windows and light and views like that here. unless i'm hanging with the wrong crowd.
i am green with envy.

*in contract

I RODE MY BIKE THROUGH CLINTON HILL, IN BROOKLYN TODAY, AND FELL IN LOVE WITH CLINTON AVENUE. NATURALLY, THE SECOND I GOT HOME I STARTED LOOKING FOR REAL ESTATE IN THAT AREA. YOU CAN FIND A LOT OF GREAT SPACES FOR DECENT PRICES, CONSIDERING, OF COURSE HOW MUCH REAL ESTATE IS IN NEW YORK CITY. I CAN SEE PAST A LOT OF BAD INTERIOR DESIGN, BUT IT'S ALWAYS SO NICE WHEN YOU COME ACROSS A HOME DECORATED IN YOUR STYLE. OR CLOSE TO, AT LEAST. THE MINUTE I SAW THIS LISTING, I KNEW I WANTED IT. CLEAN, A BIT MODERN WITH SOME ANTIQUE PIECES THROWN IN, AND THE WINDOWS. IT FEELS HAPPY. OBVIOUSLY, I WOULD DO SOME THINGS DIFFERENTLY, BUT IT'S JUST THE FEELING THIS ROOM GIVES ME THAT I HAVE SUCH AN EMOTIONAL RESPONSE TO. LUCKY FOR ME, IT'S IN CONTRACT. SO INSTEAD OF BEING DEPRESSED THAT I CAN'T AFFORD IT RIGHT NOW, IT'S ALREADY OFF THE TABLE.
AND I'LL JUST KEEP ON DREAMING...
