heaven is a place in vietnam

i thought it better to update an old post than to start a new. i decided less words, more visuals.

it's hard to believe that my vietnam trip was over a month ago, and yet the high hasn't quite left me. at this point, all i have to do is look at the following photos and i am immediately transported back. and i look at them almost daily, sometimes more than once a day...
it's so hard to get back to work, but if working is what it takes to get back to vietnam more often, then i now know my mission...

all of the following images were taken by sebastian kim. there are so many more great ones he took, but here is a small selection...enjoy.

thai and tib, the newlyweds who made it all possible. also, the most generous, wonderful people i've met in a long time...:

so long, saigon!

i'm back, and it's so hard to get into the swing of things...give me another day or two, and i'll be as good as new. x

oh, saigon

perhaps it's a sign when mid-march is fast-approaching, and i only have less than 5 posts...
i'll take it as a sign.
i need a vacation.

on monday night, i had dinner with friend. we ran into other friends, we joined tables. they were all planning on leaving for vietnam this saturday, for a wedding. somewhere during dinner, i was invited. how does one refuse such an invitation? tuesday i bought my plane ticket, wednesday renewed my passport, today i got my visa. leaving saturday, 10 days. if you don't know this about me, i'm vietnamese. i was born in new york, and have never been to vietnam. this is very exciting. if i can find any time and internet connection, i'll post some updates. if not, i'll be back soon.
