savage rose

this was the general hair/makeup inspiration for my spring 10 lookbook shoot. i liked the way this girl looked - sweet, innocent, but sultry.
it's a photo of an ex-member of some band called savage rose. rebecca saved it on my desktop one night- we were obsessed with finding out who she was because she was in one of their videos, yet wasn't the lead singer, annissette, and there's not a mention of her easily found...after some sleuthing, we figured out that she was the ex-wife of a founding member of the band, whom annissette went on to marry...

but back to my point - sara glick did an amazing job:

a memory engraved

a few weeks ago, our fall lookbook model, rebecca schiffman, performed at bruar falls in williamsburg (brooklyn). you can't really tell from the image (thanks iphone) but she's wearing the ruffle blouse from spring '09 and the lace ruffle skirt from fall '09! with white bucks! she looked and sounded beautiful.
it was a really nice show, and at the end she performed a cover of robyn hitchcock and the egyptian's "i'm only you." i've posted the song before, as I've been obsessed with it since the first time i heard her play it. it's so amazing, but i think it's even better when she sings it. and i'm not just saying that because i want to use her again...

cross-pollination

a few weeks ago, the clothing store unis had a party, and rebecca schiffman, duskin's fall lookbook model, performed a small set.
i may need to make her sign an exclusive contract with me- between her music, art, blogs/zines, jewelry, and looks, she's hot property...! click all of the links- they lead you to different projects of hers...
