We shot the Fall 10 lookbook this weekend in Southampton- it was so great to get out of the city, be near the beach, hang out with friends...I couldn't have asked for a more ideal situation and company. Can't wait to share! Soon...

a few weeks ago, the clothing store unis had a party, and rebecca schiffman, duskin's fall lookbook model, performed a small set.
i may need to make her sign an exclusive contract with me- between her music, art, blogs/zines, jewelry, and looks, she's hot property...! click all of the links- they lead you to different projects of hers...

dossier journal, the all-encompassing, bi-annual arts and culture publication, has recently opened up a concept store called dossier shop, in the ft. greene neighborhood of brooklyn, ny.
along with lines like apc, electric feathers, in god we trust, bless, and bodkin, they are currently carrying a selection from duskin's spring collection- please check it out if you're in the area.

fancy pants

i recently shipped some pleated cotton pants, from spring duskin, to steven alan. if they aren't out just yet, they will be in the next few days. if you're in new york, please look out for them! and if you see them, tell me what you think! they ordered sand (light khaki) and black. they also come in putty (pictured) and a black silk charmeuse. of course i have every color, and i live in them....i have to say, they are really flattering because it's a straighter leg as opposed to a lot of the tapered styles out now, and sometimes that's hard to find with pleated pants. basically, if i didn't make them, i would still LOVE them!

duskin fall 2009 - lookbook

so since my website is not up yet (i can't make decisions regarding it), i asked my friend kyle to teach me how to make a gif, but instead he just did it for me because he's really good and fast at that stuff. i thought it would be a fun way to show the lookbook on here without taking up too much real estate. i know it's a little different from spring, but it's still very me, how i'm feeling. hope you like it!

last month i wrote about my very talented and busy friend alia raza, who had just directed a music video for the band known as violens. i still think that is one of the best names ever.
well, perhaps because we've known each other for 25 years, she has kindly worked some of my duskin pieces into her newest music video project for the song "invisible sunday," by alexandra hope, an artist on the label manimal vinyl. these are stills pulled from the shoot, and they are

there's a new playlist up, and it's now manual instead of auto-play, because if you're like me, you open multiple blogs at once, and sometimes there's a scary symphony arrangement between them all that could definitely be avoided. now, you have the power.

i'm still unpacking and working (i have a feeling those words will be repeated through many more posts), so i quickly just thought of some songs i was feeling for my mood right now. how do i sound to you?
